West Ham are “closely following” Reading attacking midfielder Paolo Hurtado, according to A Bola. The Portuguese newspaper also report that Bournemouth are tracking the Peruvian international.

The 26 year old joined the Royals in 2015 from Portuguese club Pacos Ferreira but struggled for game time, making just six appearances during the 2015/16 season for Reading.

Hurtado returned to Portugal on loan with Vitoria Guimaraes in January 2016 before joining the club again last summer on a season long loan deal. He has had a relatively productive season in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, having made 35 appearances this season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in all competitions.

He has generally played in a central attacking midfield position for Vitoria this season, although he began the campaign playing on either flank. Considering his failure to settle the last time he was in England, it seems surprising either West Ham or Bournemouth would now consider an approach for the midfielder.
