Southampton and Celtic are currently leading the way to sign Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru, according to the Daily Record, and it seems that the Nigerian starlet is keen on a summer move

The Daily Star recently reported that the Hammers, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have also been keeping track of the winger, and speaking to the Daily Record last week, Onyekuru confirmed he is currently in negotiations with a number of clubs:

“After the (Belgian league) play-off, I will announce my decision. I have made my decision to leave. I have already agreed with Eupen that I am joining my new club after this season.

“I want to take the next step and play abroad. My ultimate aim is to one day play in the Premier League. There have been many enquiries for me. From clubs in Scotland, England and Germany. I am in negotiations right now with clubs.”

Eupen finished 13th in the Belgian Jupiler League regular season, and are now involved in the playoffs which run until the end of May. So far this season Onyekuru has scored 18 goals and provided seven assists, in 34 matches.

His performances have been widely praised, with some even suggesting he could be in the running for  the Belgian league’s player of the year. He is reportedly rated at £7million and transfer negotiations will no doubt be fierce with a number of clubs interested in him.
