West Ham had scouts present last night for the Europa League match between Besiktas and Olympiakos, according to Turkish-football.com. It is believed that the Hammers were watching the Turkish club’s striker Cenk Tosun.

If the report is to be believed then the West Ham representatives would have been impressed by what they would have seen by Tosun. The 25 year old scored his 20th goal of the season in the European tie, helping the home side to a 4-1 win.

Besiktas managed to win despite playing the majority of the game with only 10 men after striker Vincent Aboubakar was sent off for violent conduct six minutes before half time.

German born Turkish international Tosun came off the bench for the last eight minutes, scoring the fourth and final goal as Besiktas went through 5-2 on aggregate to the quarter finals of the Europa League. The striker has scored four goals in Europe this season, while the other 16 have come in the league.
