5 British centre mids who should succeed Mark Noble at West Ham

|

4. Nathaniel Chalobah

Nathaniel Chalobah is undoubtedly talented but has found it difficult to secure a starting place in a Chelsea side pulling away in the Premier League title race. The 22-year-old is stylistically somewhere between Pedro Obiang and Cheikhou Kouyate so would not be a like-for-like successor to Noble, but his spirit and work rate on the field certainly mimic the Hammers captain’s. The tough-tackling, high-tempo Chalobah would likely find himself with the kind of starting role he is, for now, unable to achieve at Stamford Bridge.
