After moving to West Ham from Valencia in the summer, Antonio Martinez established himself as a prolific scorer for the development squad. Since being loaned out to Oxford in January the Spaniard has scored two crucial goals for the U’s in the FA Cup and integrated well into the first team set up there. With Jonathan Calleri likely to return to Deportivo Maldonado after his loan expires in the summer, there could well be a place available for Martinez as a backup striker for the Hammers next season.
