Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has confirmed that he wants to leave the French club in the summer but he is only prepared to move if he feels it progresses his career.

The French international has scored 21 goals already this season and is also believed to be the target for the likes of Arsenal and Juventus. He told Canal+ Sport (translated by Sky Sports) at the weekend:

“I think it’s come, the right moment. I think that this summer will be the time where I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person. I am going to continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer.”

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas confirmed last month that West Ham did indeed make an offer of €50million (£43m) for the 25 year old in the summer but the bid was rebuffed.

It has been reported that any club that wants to take Lacazette in the summer will have to activate the €60million (£52m) buyout clause in the forward’s contract. The Hammers’ pursuit of Scott Hogan ended after they refused to pay £15million for the forward which may indicate that the Frenchman would be out of West Ham’s price range unless more money is made available.
