West Ham, Everton and a number of other Premier League sides are “monitoring developments” regarding Chelsea full back Branislav Ivanovic, according to Simon Jones in the Daily Mail.

The Mail mention that the Hammers have talked to Everton centre back Phil Jagielka’s agent during this transfer window, but after signing Jose Fonte from Southampton already this month, it is unlikely they are still interested. The paper also say however that the same clubs that are monitoring Jagielka, in addition to Everton, are also watching Ivanovic.

With West Ham in quite desperate need of cover at right back, the link to Ivanovic seems like the more realistic one. The veteran has been sidelined under manager Antonio Conte this season after the Italian switched to a back three. The success of the formation has inevitably meant the Serbian’s match time has been restricted.

Despite making 15 appearances in all competitions this season, the 32 year old has not started a league game since the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal back in September.
