Roma will fight it out with Marseille to sign West Ham winger Sofiane Feghouli in the January transfer window, reports calciomercato.com.

The Italian website believe that the Serie A side have kept tabs on the Algerian international since before he joined the Hammers in the summer from Valencia on a free transfer.

Both Roma and Inter Milan were keen to snap up the 27 year old but he opted to join Slaven Bilic’s side instead. With the midfielder having only started just four matches in cup competitions, making 13 appearances in total, both Marseille and Roma believe they have a chance of signing the winger this month.

Feghouli failed to make the African Cup of Nations squad for Algeria and will be keen to get more game time, while West Ham could do with the finances to make a move for a striker in January. A €12million (£10m) price tag has been set, according to calciomercato.com, which would hand the Hammers a tidy profit six months on after signing the player for free.
