West Ham co-owner David Sullivan says the club is hoping to make more signings before the end of the transfer window, and is working hard to make them happen.

The Hammers have signed defender Jose Fonte from Southampton and youth player Nathan Holland from Everton so far this month, but with a week to go before the window shuts, Sullivan told the club’s official website that he is hoping for more:

“We will all go in to that match [against Manchester City buoyed by our last two performances and, I hope, with further new signings, which we hope to make between now and the end of the transfer window. The market is challenging, but we are positive and will work around the clock to secure the right players to take us forward.”

The two likeliest candidates to join the club are Brentford striker Scott Hogan and Hull City winger Robert Snodgrass. The Telegraph report that the Hammers will make a fourth bid for Snodgrass very soon to match Hull’s £10million asking price, while Sky Sports have reported that the club are hopeful of sealing a deal for Hogan some time this week.

In terms of outgoings, Dimitri Payet’s move to Marseille looks to depend on the Ligue One side matching West Ham’s £35million valuation while Jonathan Calleri’s move to Las Palmas looks to have stalled over a dispute over payments.
