West Ham striker Simone Zaza was reportedly contacted by Valencia in a phone call last week with the Spanish club enquiring whether he would be interested in moving to La Liga, AS reports.

The Spanish newspaper say that Zaza did not say “no” to them, but at the same time it doesn’t amount to agreeing to a move either. The journalist reporting on the story Conrado Valle did however say the Italian international is keen to work with Valencia boss Cesare Prandelli.

Whether the transfer will happen in January, it is not known, but it is believed West Ham are keen to offload Zaza before he reaches the 14 appearances required to make the move permanent to the London stadium.

The 25 year old remained on the bench during the Hammers’ 5-1 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday and has not started for the club since the 1-0 victory over Sunderland back in late October.
