Wind back to the start of the season and, as much as the West Ham fans would like to forget it, they were going out of the Europa League play-offs for the second season running.
That disappointment seemed to run into this season with the club performing well below their usual levels and the results were not looking good.
At one point they were in the relegation zone and, whilst no-one genuinely feels they’d have stayed there, they still needed to do something about it.
In recent weeks, things have improved. Wins against Crystal Palace and Sunderland have been welcome and with the league table looking tight, the Hammers can still target European qualification this season.
They’re 17th at the moment, a position that doesn’t reflect the squad’s quality and we think that if Slaven Bilic makes these five changes he can still get his side back onto the continent next season…
