The agent and father of West Ham striker Simone Zaza has placed the Italian’s future at the club in doubt after an interview with the Italian website calciomercato.com.

The Juventus forward is on loan at the Hammers until the end of the season but it is believed the move will be made permanent for £17million if the 25 year old makes a certain number appearances this season. With the striker already having played nine matches without scoring for the club, Antonio Zaza said he is not certain what is next for his son:

“Let’s see. It’s difficult to predict. I can’t ensure that he’s going to stay at the club until the end of the season, nor I can’t say that he’s definitely going to leave. We need to analyze the situation.”

He went on to say that despite the rumours, neither AC Milan or Napoli had been in contact about signing the player but when asked if his son would be open to a move to either of these two clubs, Zaza’s father said:

“Absolutely. He’d love that. If they’d call, I’d be happy to talk to them.”

There have been conflicting reports about how many matches Zaza needs to make for the move to become permanent but Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta did have this to say last week (quotes translated by football-italia.net).

“We loaned [Simone] Zaza to West Ham for €5m, the obligation to buy will be triggered at 14 appearances, regardless of time on the pitch.”
