Valencia’s number one target in the January transfer window is Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Superdeporte, not Simone Zaza

The Spanish club were believed to be frontrunners for the West Ham striker but it looks as if that Napoli are now favourites to land the on loan Juventus forward.

Superdeporte do report however that along with Sampdoria’s Luis Muriel and AC Milan’s Gianluca Lapadula, Zaza remains an option for Prandelli, but it now appears far less likely than it did even a week ago.

A possible scenario is that Napoli allow Gabbiadini to leave for Valencia (for a transfer fee estimated in the region of €15-€18m by Superdeporte) and that would then free up funds for the Italian side to make a move for Zaza.

Juventus are believed to be reluctant to cut the player’s loan short at the Hammers as they will receiv€e 20m if the 25 year old makes four more appearances for the Hammers. Napoli could however takeover West Ham’s loan agreement with the purchase option included helping to free up space in Slaven Bilic’s squad for January purchases.
