AC Milan are considering turning M’baye Niang into their main striker, according to calciomercato.com.

The Rossoneri currently play a 4-3-3 formation and Niang’s switch to the number nine role could prove fatal for West Ham target Carlos Bacca, according to calciomercato.com.

The Colombian has been a first team regular this season up until now but speculation about the 30 year old’s future at the San Siro has increased since the forward had a very public spat with manager Montella after being substituted in the 1-0 league victory over Pescara in October.

Things were quickly smoothed over but if Montella’s plan to move Niang to a striker role comes to fruition, Bacca will have to be satisfied with a place on the bench.

West Ham agreed a €25million fee last summer for the striker but he opted to stay in Italy. The Hammers are still believed to be interested in the player but they may face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Valencia in the January transfer window.
