Some good news arrived from the injury table last week for West Ham as Andre Ayew, the summer signing from Swansea, resumed full training.

The Ghanaian international injured his quadriceps on the opening day against Chelsea and has been out ever since but now could be in contention to feature against the Blues tonight in the EFL Cup.

The competition presents a chance for the Hammers to go and win some silverware with a place in the quarter finals on offer for the winner of this game and the London Stadium crowd would like nothing better than to get one over on one of their most fierce London rivals.

How Slaven Bilic goes about winning the game remains to be seen as squad management comes into play but we reckon Ayew should get the nod from the start. Here are two reasons why…
