It’s safe to say Simone Zaza has had a pretty tough time of it so far this season.
Signed by West Ham in the summer it looked as though he was going to be a real coup for the east London side but so far he’s failed to live up to those expectations.
He’s yet to score in the Premier League despite being the main starter with Andy Carroll out injured and his only real contribution so far this season to the Hammers cause is to get booked.
Nevertheless, let’s try not to write the Italian off just yet. After all, he’s played at a very high level and that initial excitement over his signing can’t have been for nothing.
There were signs, too, against Crystal Palace, like with the rest of the squad, that improvement isn’t far away and so here are reasons that he may still come good for the Hammers this season…
