West Ham United have bid €30 million for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The big advantage for the Hammers in the race for Bacca is the fact that Atletico Madrid are preoccupied in their pursuit of Chelsea hit man Diego Costa.

Di Marzio states that if West Ham are determined to wrap up the deal quickly, they will move ahead of Altletico who are still waiting to learn more about Costa’s situation.

The Hammers are on the look out for a new striker and Bacca is currently top of Slaven Bilic’s wish list.

The 29-year-old was AC Milan’s top scorer last season and has bagged 80 goals in his last four seasons. He certainly possesses the goal-scoring pedigree the Hammers are looking for and based on reports, West Ham are keen to wrap up a deal quickly.

According to the Daily Mail, Carlos Bacca’s representatives are expected to meet with West Ham tomorrow in order to discuss a move to the Olympic Stadium.

If Bacca signs for West Ham, it is likely that the Irons will pursue another striker as there are still question marks surrounding Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia’s future at the club.

Germany striker Mario Gomez is attracting the interest of the Hammers. The 30-year-old will be available for a nominal fee from Italian side Fiorentina and Slaven Bilic is keen to sign the forward after seeing him perform superbly for former club Besiktas last season.

If everything goes to plan, West Ham’s forward line could look very different by the start of next week.
