The owners will not sell
Speaking to Claret and Hugh this week, David Sullivan categorically stated that West Ham would not be selling Dimitri Payet: “It’s as simple as this – we are not selling him – not at any price. West Ham United is building a team around Dimi Payet – he will not be moving anywhere and that is that.”
Pretty defiant words from the Hammers’ chairman.
It’s also very clear that West Ham are in a healthy position financially so a big money offer is not something the club needs right now. From a fan’s perspective, this is probably the biggest indication that Payet will stay at the club this summer.
