It’s no secret that the Hammers are looking for at least one quality new striker next season to increase the goal threat up front.

With players like Alexandre Lacazette, Mauro Icardi, Jamie Vardy and Michy Batshuyai all linked with the club, it’s becoming clear that West Ham are ready to splash some cash on strikers this summer.

It looks as if the Hammers will be looking to sign two strikers as the likes of Elliot Lee and Enner Valencia are expected to depart the club at the end of the season and they will need replacing.

One player that should be standing out for West Ham is Loic Remy. He seems to have almost fallen under the radar in recent times but there is no denying his ability when he does play.

He was Queens Park Rangers’ player of the year in his sole season there and then went on to score 14 Premier League goals for Newcastle the following season. Since then, his move to Chelsea has simply not worked out and he’ll be looking to move on this summer if he is to play regular football next season.

The 29-year-old will not cost a hefty amount due to his age and his lack of playing time recently. Another advantage is that the attacker is versatile; he can also operate out wide rather than just down the middle. He has a lot of Premier League experience and is an excellent player when he is given the opportunity.

Remy is by no means the marquee striker signing that the club need this summer but he would certainly be a shrewd acquisition were the Hammers to make a move for the Frenchman.
