The current striker situation is set to be resolved by the end of the week as both Emmanuel Emenike and Burak Yilmaz are linked with moves to the club.

Sky Sports are reporting that everything has been agreed with Emenike but the problem still lies with negotiating a deal with his parent club Fenerbahce. According to ExWHUEmployee, The Hammers are keen to strike a deal with the Turkish side but there is a complication in sorting a fee for the player.

If the Hammers get their way, Emenike will sign for the Hammers by the end of the week. However, negotiations my break down which naturally leads to other options being linked with the club.

One of those options is Burak Yilmaz, another striker from Turkey that is almost guaranteed to leave in this current window after handing in a transfer request. According to reports, West Ham have offered a loan fee for the player with a view of signing the striker for €7 million in the summer.

There are claims that Karren Brady may travel to Turkey in order to finalise a deal but this seems unlikely as the same rumours circled in the Turkish press in the summer. It is understood that Yilmaz is a target for West Ham but his age (30) may put the Hammers off moving for the striker.

Yilmaz is known for his finishing and he has maintained an excellent goalscoring record throughout his career. Emenike does have baggage but still possesses all the attributes to thrive in the Premier League and he would certainly provide a boost to the Hammers’ front line if the deal goes through.

Yilmaz for me, we don’t need to buy him, just use him ’til the end of the season…
