The first half against Southampton was possibly one of the worst halves of football West Ham have played under Slaven Bilic. I think it’s fair to say that if we had gone in at the break 0-3 down, it wouldn’t have flattered The Saints and wouldn’t have been undeserved. There were passengers all over the pitch, the players weren’t sure of their roles and many seemed out of position and lost. Some credit has to go to Adrian and the defenders (particularly James Collins) for riding the storm towards the end of that half and keeping us in the game.
At half time, Bilic done what was necessary and made changes early. Where Allardyce would most likely have waited and seen if the players could sort the issues, Bilic made effective changes before things got worse. But what did change in the second half to inspire West Ham to victory?
