West Ham front man Diafra Sakho has produced a number of solid performances for the Hammers so far this season.

His work rate has always been an admirable attribute and recent proof from Talksport suggests that Sakho is the hardest working striker in the Premier League.

In a list of the top ten sprinters in the league so far this season, Diafra Sakho currently sits in 8th place, registering an impressive 469 sprints. No striker has recorded better stats in this department which proves that Sakho is a team player whose commitment may go unnoticed at times.

Sakho has been deployed as a lone striker for the majority of the season so far and it has worked well for Bilic. The 25-year-old has formed a good understanding with Dimitri Payet in an attacking sense but his all-round energetic, pressing play is another huge positive in a defensive sense.

The top 10 list is dominated by attacking full-backs such as Nacho Monreal, Nathaniel Clyne and Kyle Walker. This is no real surprise as the transition of defence to attack for these players often involves high intensity sprints in order to get back into position.

Therefore, Sakho deserves recognition for his efforts as it can become very easy for a striker to hover at the top of the pitch whilst the rest of his teammates do the running.

Luckily for the Hammers, this isn’t the case.
