Michael CarrickWell, well, well, if Football Direct News are to be believed, then former West Ham midfielder Michael Carrick could be returning to the Upton Park.

The Manchester United midfielder is rumoured to be one of those that David Moyes will move on in the summer as he looks to refresh his Red Devils squad.

Carrick was part of a successful era for West Ham in producing top quality young talents and went on to make 128 league starts for the Hammers before leaving to join Tottenham Hotspur – can you forgive and forget that?

If Sam Allardyce were to make a move for Carrick, a United source believes they will face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Too slow, didn’t give a damn the season we went down or the next – unlike Joe Cole who gave his all – sadly, he’s finished too at the top level.

  • Ausie John says:

Im 50% on taking him back it would be on player if he would have his heart no only returning but come to the club that made him the player come with passion

Doesn’t give a damn about the club, would hate to see him back at upton park.
Would like to see the lads from the championship instead.
Don’t think Carrick has the heart and probably thinks he is too good for West Ham.

Don’t go backwards with type of signing, seen his best days, get some younger players in, we so lack any pace in the side. we need a rebuild from back to front. coyi

  • Tommy brunette says:

Carrick is toilet, he thinks he’s hoddle or pirlo, he’s nothing but a side pass specialist

  • Rikki says:

I actually think he would be good for a season or two, would be the only player next to Noble that could actually pass & set up attacks. I don’t see it happening IMO but wouldnt mind

  • ed says:

Need more players with a bit of vision who can keep posession.. he can pick passes out all day long so wouldnt mind chucking him in our squad

I’m with most on here regarding Carrick. To sign him would be a backwards move as I also think he’s too slow, he thinks he is better than he is and I never ever saw him as a player who had the “Cojones” anyway.

If there is a former player that I wouldn’t want to see back here………it’s HIM! I thought his attitude stank as he wound his contract down looking for a move to the spuds and as a former player he has never spoke of his affinity for the club that gave him his start in football.

    It’s a pass, for me I’m afraid.
