Ross McCormackWhere did that move even come from? I’m talking about West Ham’s failed bid to bring Leeds United striker Ross McCormack to Upton Park.

Some have said it is Sam Allardyce getting desperate as the transfer window deadline day fast approaches. Where as others, due to McCormack only being 5 foot 8 inches, are getting their hopes that the Hammers will play two upfront.

Sky Sports are reporting that the first bid was £3 million plus add-ons but it is believed that the Championship side want nearer £5 million.

Sky also reports that the Hammers will make a second bid for the Scotland international, over the weekend.

Does make you wonder why our transfer business is played out in the public domain ? Contrast that with the swift and discreet deals for Ozil , Matic and Mata. Only made public when all three parties are agreed and then quickly closed. In this case , has the leak come from Leeds , the player / agent or West Ham ? And whose interest does it serve ?
