Johnny HeitingaNewcastle United have made a last minute move to sign Everton’s John Heitinga, writes the Daily Mirror.

Only 24 hours or so ago West Ham manager Sam Allardyce said, regarding Heitinga: “”We’ve had the OK from Everton and we’re talking to his agent at the moment so hopefully that will happen in the next day or so”

Heitinga would have provided much needed cover for the Hammers defensive line with Winston Reid, James Collins and James Tomkins all suffering with injuries.

Surprisingly, the possibility of playing European football appeals to the 30-year-old rather than entering into a relegation dogfight.

Back to the drawing board, Sam!

Have you ever felt that WHU are like the United Kingdom in the Eurovision song contest when it comes to transfer activity, everyone wants to put the boot in, or screw us over. Looks like the Sam and Kev duo will again score nil points. Joleon Lescott , Steven Taylor Rio Ferdinand would be better signings than Heitinga, lets hope that one of these might pull on the claret and blue in January.

Seriously this does not help England.
Managers are so under pressure to get results that they go out spend big money on players to try get results however this really does not help. Where have all the greatest players come from ?. YOUTH. Over the years have we or have we not produced some fine players.. Give the kids a go. I’d rather go down with traditional east London spirit. Whilst building a future team to do justice to our beloved west ham . Than waste money on journeymen only interested in there bank balance. Unfortunately more foriegn players will come and go.as will managers due to there need to please chairmen thus leaving wasting talented youth. Our academy from the outside looks doomed. Tim Sherwood read what he said about rather bring youth through than buying. Yeah I know he’s already got a decent group of players and can afford to do that but hats off to the guy. I dread the thought of losing good young players just for a quick fix all we ever do is paper over the cracks a few years time how much is Morrison gonna be worth. Who knows. Now I know nothing of management but what’s happening at our great club is not right. And to think allardyce is on big money. The guy who runs your local supermarket would do just a good a job lol

The difference is Allardyce probably couldn’t manage your local tesco correctly….
