Have the West Ham faithful forgiven him?

Ricardo Vaz Te Cheltenham Town

After our fantastic 3-0 win against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur our optimism has been restored after a rocky start to the Premier League season. Many of us didn’t expect to gain anything from Sunday’s game and the fact that we so comfortably and confidently beat our rivals added to the spectacle.

The performance of the whole team was very good but it was pleasing to see Ricardo Vaz Te managing to get his name on the score sheet.

Over the summer it looked as if he would be on his way out of West Ham but now his has worked his way back into the side, have we forgiven him?

I can’t say I was against the idea of Ricardo leaving, as I didn’t view him as an instrumental part of our season but injuries to key players has seen him work his way back into contention. He offers the club some flair but at times I wish he would tone it down with the step overs but against Spurs it was a step over that led to our second goal so his luck was finally back in!

Personally I haven’t forgiven Vaz Te as I never had a problem with him putting in a transfer request.

If we managed to have brought in new players I feel that Ricardo would have found it too difficult to work his way back into the side, but while he is here it can only benefit ourselves and the player if he continues to perform to a high standard.

Come January, If he still wants to leave, let him…

How do you feel about Ricardo Vaz Te?

I think too many Hammers fans are suffering some kind of hangover after the Andy Carrol injury setback , and seem to be looking for someone to lash out at all the time . If it isn’t Vaz Te it’s Big Sam or the owners .Why not try celebrating a great result and a superb all round team performance including Vaz and just get behind the team .i wouldn’t be in any great rush to show the exit door to anyone just now . Vaz Te has scored some great goals for the club including the vital one at Wembley not so long ago .Get behind the team instead of trying to forecast the next impending disaster or bemoaning the past .

Spot on mate! Think we all have been suffering from an Andy Carroll hangover and that this has been made worse by worries concerning not buying another quality striker and some poor performances! Vaz was entitled to make a transfer request to play regular football but I am still to be convinced he was good enough or consistent enough to be an automatic pick in the prem league. The best thing about the win against the spuds, apart from getting right up their noses!, bringing their 100mill fantasy crashing down!, and shutting the gobby bastards right up! Was just how well we played, how well the team executed an excellent game plan and how the manager/coaches and owners can take some well earned praise for a change! But no! More than all of these, the most important thing about Sundays result was the huge lift it has given to the club and supporters and the sense of pride and optimism we can now take forward for the rest of the season! COYI!

There’s nothing to forgive, he was right to hand in a transfer request and gave valid reasons.

Spot on. No problems with Vaz Te, don’t blame him for putting request in. Let’s just move on and get behind the team

  • Paul says:

Completely agree. His only motive in putting in a transfer request was the desire to be playing. In these days of Michael Owen, Carlo Cudicini and other willing bench-warmers I have no issue with RVT other than his lack of consistency.

  • Tom E says:

RVT has been a good servant to the club. I see him as another Bobby Zamora, scoring important goals when needed, but not a tremendous player the way Carlos Tevez was for us.

I do miss “Deano” Ashton. Now he was a player that left us way before his time.

  • Fish says:

Tom E, deano didn’t leave us, he had to retire because his ankle never recovered from an england training session and a tackle from shaune wright phillips. He has subsequently had his ankle joint operated on and will always walk with a limp.

RVT didn’t do anything wrong, he just wants to play. He has even put up with being played as a winger when he feels his position is as a central striker.

  • Stunaldo says:

There was nothing to forgive, he wants to play football, gave 100%, and didn’t see himself getting a fair crack of the whip. He was asked to play and still have 100%, fair play to the lad!!…. I’m sure a majority of hammers fans feel the same way.

  • AA Gill says:

I still have issues with RVT and lack of technique byt whislt he’s scoring I don’t mind.

  • Bav says:

    Talking of forgiving players

Would anyone want Defoe back ?

I certainly would, him and Carroll up front could be match made in heaven, what do others think ?
