Will panic set-in at West Ham?

Carlton ColeThe most important topic on top of the West Ham agenda, has to be, the signing of a new striker.

It’s ironic how in recent years we’ve had an abundance of strikers, such as, Marouane Chamakh, Wellington Paulista, Carlton Cole, Sam Baldock and Nicky Maynard. With all moving on, we just have two-first team strikers at the club; one of those (Andy Carroll) is currently injured.

With the papers linking us to many different options, it’s clear that we still remain uncertain on who our new striker will be. The worry I have is that we’ll soon panic and pay over the odds. Teams will soon figure out how desperate we are and a few extra million is likely to get added.

In the upcoming weeks you can expect us to get linked with many different strikers, Gary Hooper, Loic Remy and Peter Crouch automatically spring to mind. Whether a short term deal is completed or long term, something needs to be sorted and quick. I’m not doubting Big Sam and the ‘Two Davids’ abilities in bringing in new players but the longer it goes on and panic will start to set in for the fans and squad.

With individuals close to West Ham talking about Europe, a decent well proven striker is needed, ideally instead of a quick fix solution. Last season was extremely close with 3 points separating 18th from 10th up until the last couple of games and I’ve expressed my concerns of how the teams around us have strengthened their squads dramatically.

Is this typical West Ham getting out of their depth with our supposed transfer targets and inevitably getting let down?

If only we had weeks to sort this out…………………..oh

the only panic is being done by knicker wetting fans who seem to not realise that every single year we don’t have our squad in place at this stage

and neither does any club in the entire league

GET REMY 6 GOALS IN 12 GAMES, AMAZING CONSIDERING THEY GOT RELEGATED. but thinking of qpr they had a amazing team which still couldn’t get them up and they spent fortunes, so west ham have to be carefull or we could end up like them. don’t go crazy with the transfers, slow and steady win the race.

Or even maybe CISSE as he’s doesn’t want to play in Newcastle kit because of the sponsor which could mean to save wages they’ll sell him on the cheap, and he’s amazing could be the perfect signing.

Why not get hooper, only 4 mil, I think he would work really well with Carroll ( when fit ) not much point getting remy and he’s facing charges of rape.

remy is facing a rape charge and could therefore be unavailable from September on

Soloman Kalou for me. He’s quick and has something to prove in the premier league.
