Razvan RatReports this week heavily suggest that Razvan Rat and Massimo Ambrosini are both set to sign for West Ham this week on a free. It was made official that West Ham were going to sign two players this week with everyone knowing that Razvan Rat was certainly one of them. However, many believed the second player that we were ready to sign this week was Carroll.

But, reports were everywhere on Monday which all suggested that Massimo Ambrosini was in London to talk with West Ham. The Milan captain is out of contract this summer and with some likely departures in that area (O’Neil, Diarra), Allardyce would be looking to sign some replacements. Many have criticised this possible signing already due to his age but what Ambrosini will bring to the team is stability in the midfield. He is a composed player and won’t be looking to play a long pass the minute he gets the ball. I believe that this is the sort of player we need. Someone who can relieve pressure by keeping the ball for longer periods.

Well, just as I was about to begin talking on the possible move of Razvan Rat move to West Ham, he officially signs. So there we have it, our first signing of the summer. Rat is a 31 year old left back that captains his national side, Romania. He has a lot of Champions League experience and he will be a good addition to our squad.

We do now have our first departure of the summer with Carlton Cole announcing that he will be leaving West Ham. The striker said “I want to thank the West Ham fans for their support especially the 1’s who made the away games feel like a home 1.” He then went on to say, “I came to East London not knowing what to expect but I’m glad I did the last 7 years I’ve met a lot of good honest decent people.” Cole has been a loyal player to West Ham and I will always have respect for him.
