West Ham Fans Want Diame Back

|

Diame ArmyDuring the first half of West Ham’s season Mohamed Diame seemed to be in a personal battle for the Hammer of the year award with Winston Reid; his all action performances full of pace, power, dynamism and tenacity were major factors in our ascension up the league.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

These performances culminated with one of the best individual efforts seen at the Boleyn for many a year; when Diame came off the bench at 1-0 down to Chelsea and effectively pummelled the Champions League winners into submission as we came back to win 3-1 with Diame scoring the crucial 2nd and harrying Ashley Cole into the mistake that lead to the third.

Since Diame went off injured against Liverpool a week later (a game we were comfortably seeing out 2-1 till he limped off; and then subsequently contrived to lose) Diame’s return in the 2nd half of this season’s campaign has seen his match winning displays curbed; so is it a matter of finding form and fitness after being out with a lengthy injury? Or has his head been turned by the admiring glances from across the capital during the January window?

In all honesty it’s probably a bit of both; but with Chelsea around the corner hopefully Diame can reach a similar sort of level as he did in the fixture at the Boleyn to help secure a first double over Chelsea in 10 years.

Diame’s watershed moment came in that game against Chelsea at Upton Park, hopefully his resurgence will coincide with another untouchable performance against the boys from The Bridge.

Stupid post. Getting on his back after a long lay off. Did you not see him vs stoke? One of his best performances of the season. You seem to think he should be playing at a world class level every game.

Unfortunately reality shouldn’t have anything to do with it dan, surely he’s not allowed to be human like the rest of us!

  • ScottHammer says:

Why shouldn’t he be playing world class level every game if he has the ability, i am a big Diame fan and think without him we struggle physically in midfield, but when he isn’t going at 100% we dont get the true player he is.

Its an opinion, the enlightened man does not presume his opinion is more important than others Dan. At no point do I have a pop at Diame I merely say and anyone who bothers to watch West Ham will know that his first half the season performances have been better than the 2nd half.
So is it not ok to criticise players? What planet are you living on?

I think Mo Diame has been brilliant this season. I don’t think the attention from other clubs in january window will affect him. I expect him to play his usual game tomorrow but overall Chelsea are a different proposition now from the team we beat last december. And Kwame, you are right, it is part and parcel of sports journalism to offer opinions about players. Some fans and players resent this but thats the world we live in.

W**kers. Blah, blah rubbish, a waste of 1 minute.

  • Roy says:

I think on his day Mo Diame is a world beater but he lacks discipline and tends to disappear in some games without doubt he can be a match winner and we should try to tie him up long term so if we do have to sell him we will get decent money for him.
