Influx Of Samba Stars To West Ham?

|

Wellington PaulistaThe football world has always been blown away by the sheer class and finesse of the Brazilians. Leaving fans across the globe in admiration of the talents they possess with a football at their feet. Now that West Ham United have signed Brazilian forward Wellington Paulista on loan from Cruzeiro can we expect to see more arrivals at Upton Park in his footsteps?

Forever West Ham is now on Google+, so be sure to find us on there by quite simply (and rather unsurprisingly) searching ‘Forever West Ham’

Brazilians have been largely debated as being flops in the English Premier League, yet elsewhere continue to prove their excellence in the beautiful sport of football. I personally believe in the next couple of years Brazilian players will find adapting to the pace of the English game a piece of cake. This also seems to be the views of managers in the league, with clubs spending money on potential world class Brazilian talent, in hope of unearthing a diamond in the rough.

When you look through the Premier League, you see clubs taking a chance on the talent that the South American countries have to offer. The likes of Chelsea have spent tens of millions on growing names, such as Oscar, David Luiz, Lucas Piazon, whilst also being linked with a whole new host of names from the Brazilian leagues. The number of South American players in the Premier League is a growing figure and I expect it to keep on growing over the course of time.

West Ham United appears to be another club taking chances on Brazilian players, in the form of new addition Wellington Paulista. So far we haven’t seen much of what he has to offer, however his record in Brazil is very impressive. The question is can he transfer his form across to the English leagues, with it  being a complete new ball game in comparison to what he is used to?

Foreign players have had a large impact on the Premier league over the years, with the numbers clearly starting to override the home-grown British players. Despite such large amounts of foreign talent in the UK it is mainly players from France, Italy or Spain that dominate the statistics, not players from South America.

Like English players and their obscene price tags, Brazilian players face a similar situation if not worse, with their players being in such high demand. Clubs often install a buy-out clause in their player’s contracts so they can get as much money as possible for their prized assets. This often puts many clubs off making any form of formal bid, however many clubs still try and poach players before these contracts are signed.

The economic world has seen the likes of America and Russia dominate for years; however, recently new power nations are arising with China and Brazil starting to make an impact in many global trades. With Brazil economically on the rise, the football leagues are likely to improve as we are witnessing in China, with well-known players moving to Chinese clubs for the money, as everyone knows money talks in the modern days of football.

With Brazil hosting the next World Cup, no doubt European clubs will be scouting the networks to pick the best of the talent on show, before other clubs jump in and steal the prize. Although I am one in agreement that English youth players should be given more of a run-out in Premier League teams, I also feel West Ham United should make the most of this event and add to the signing of Wellington Paulista and to be honest I can see it happening too, as we are a club full of players who lack flair and creativity and maybe we can find what are missing in Brazil?
