RUMOUR MILL: Man City defender just what Hammers need?

|

I’m a big fan of Joleon Lescott. He was excellent in his Everton day’s and since he’s been at Manchester City he’s improved even more. However, lately he has been warming the bench at The Etihad. So with the January transfer window opening in a few days and Roberto Mancini still with millions at his disposal, could a move south for Lescott could be possible?

What should we offer?

I think we should offer Manchester City a loan move for the centre back; then agree to pay 60-80% of his wages. 75% of his wages would be £60,000 a week which is good value for money in my opinion.

What would we be getting for our money?

We would be getting a big, strong, world class centre back who knows how to put a big tackle in in an important area. He’s not afraid to put his body on the line when it matters most, either. Joleon is also a threat in the air and would be able to put up with a big, strong centre forward. He also has Champions League and international experience, something which he could use to our advantage.

Could he fit in?

We need a defender in January to strengthen our back line so Lescott would be the perfect fit. The majority of our squad speak good English and are British so there would be no worries about a language barrier, especially in defence.

Would it be beneficial for both clubs and the player?

If Joleon Lescott excels at West Ham he could earn a place in City’s starting line up come next season. There’s plenty of evidence that this works. Steven Caulker spent the 2011/12 season at Swansea City where he consistently played well. He returned to Spurs in the summer and is now a regular starter for them. At Upton Park, Lescott has the opportunity to do the same thing. With regular impressive performances, he could catch Mancini’s eye. This would make the move worth it for all parties involved.

id be more bothered about scoring goals i sometimes wonder where our next one is going to come from our top scorer has 5 and is a midfielder that speaks volumes

Lescott? You are clearly talking out your … hat?
Left back is a must and someone to score goals, and I don’t mean Anelka!

Well I would take him on loan and he can play left back as well so covers a couple of positions.

I think we should get micah richards on loan not lescott, get tomkins out and play Reid and Richards at centre back and get a new young left back.
we need to get a right winger who can score in premier league (so not vaz te) recent reports reports linking us with a loan for kalou, unlikely due to him just joining lille but he is winger/striker who can score goals.

I’d rather see Tomkins & Reid at centre back
