Anyone leaving in Jan?

|

So one of my last articles I did was on what West Ham need to do to improve the squad in the January transfer window and I have now been asked ‘could you see the club selling or loaning anybody out next month?’

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

With the amount of injuries we have had in recent weeks I don’t think that there will be an opportunity to let anybody leave the club until the summer. Sam Allardyce needs to concentrate on bringing in some more players to increase the strength in depth of the team. It was great to see Jack Collison come off the bench on Saturday and he looked quite sharp but didn’t get too much of the ball. Alou Diarra was among the substitutes at the weekend, so hopefully he can stay fit and will mean that we have some more options in midfield. This is especially good as Mohamed Diame still has the £3.5 million buy out clause in his contract and if he does decide leave we will have players to step in. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think they would do as good a job as him but at least we will have that extra bit of cover.

Carlton Cole has also got an undeserved three match ban looming over him as well so even at the moment we can’t even think of getting rid of Freddie Piquionne. I know that is a mad thing to say but if the referee decides not too overturn Cole’s red card, we will only have one fit striker in Modibo Maiga. Hopefully the red card will be rescinded and Cole will be available. So a striker and preferably a goal scorer should be right at the top of Allardyce’s shopping list.

I think Allardyce and the club need to look more into bringing players in and not looking to get rid of any of the squad. We need to cement our league status and then we can look to offload a few players in the summer.
