I predict a miracle

|

Favoured by the weather turning fine after heavy rains of the morning, West Ham United began their season most auspiciously yesterday evening, when they beat Millwall by 3 to 0 on their new enclosure at Upton Park.” Daily Mirror, 2nd Sept, 1904.

The reason I put the quote from the Daily Mirror at the top of this article was for no apparent reason.

Now let’s talk astrology. “Do what, mate?” And “Leave it out, will ya!” I hear echoing through cyberspace.

Just bare with me. Having just completed a three hour astrology course (with an hour for lunch), I decided to do West Ham’s chart. Amazingly, with Saturn retrograde and trine to the moon’s fourth house, the sky is almost identical to the 85/86 season; and like then, a “team” is emerging from seemingly nowhere.

Positivity is beginning to surge through all aspects of the club: The Board, manager, staff, players and supporters alike seem to be pulling in the same direction.

The win at Loftus Road was, for me, one of the most pleasing away games in recent times. The way they went about taking the game to QPR, scoring two first half goals, then defending brilliantly after they pulled one back was very satisfying.

The team is playing for each other, and the players that have been brought in seem to have fitted in well. We also have options from the bench to change things when required.

You can tell that Andy Carroll is really enjoying his at West Ham from his demeanour and what he has been saying. But people say, yes, but you have yet to play any of the big teams. Well we are Saturday with the visit of Arsenal – and wouldn’t it be great if Carroll scored his first against them?

It is all very well to go out and splash ridiculous sums of money on players, but sometimes, when the right characters have come together, and the planets align auspiciously, a team can perform miracles.

Lol I like the thinking mate. Astrology seems a load of bollocks but a repeat of the 85/86 season would do me nicely

A draw is best we can hope for I fear. We have a manager who is underrated though and a good squad , so Iets reach for the astrology stars and predict 2 0 to the hammers.
