One of the best front three in the league

|

I was reading a few forum sites last night and the excitement around our potential starting front three when Andy Carroll is fit is a mouth-watering prospect for the claret and blue army.

Summer arrivals Carroll, Yossi Benayoun and Matt Jarvis could line up together against Arsenal on October 6 th as Carroll steps up his recovery and it begs the question just how good can they be. Could they be the best front three outside the top 6 or so teams?

With the flair of Benayoun, the hold-up play of Carroll and the crossing and pace of Jarvis this front three could really be special for us. Benayoun known for his final killer ball that can split a defence wide open and you don’t play for 3 of the biggest clubs in England if you’re not a top class player. His cameo against Norwich City has got fans wanting to see more.

As for Jarvis, Allardyce cannot speak highly enough of his skill and potential to be a big player for our great club. On his arrival Allardyce told Whufc.com; “Certainly from an attacking sense he is one of the best final-third crossers in the Premier League and his stats were very good at Wolverhampton Wanderers. He delivers in the business end of the field and creates a lot of chances and is a player that can give opposition defences an awful lot of trouble.”

Jarvis is a class act and his brief appearances in a West Ham shirt has shown glimpse of class, he was clearly the best player on the park on his debut against Swansea and nearly bagged a goal on his first start but for a flying safe from Vorm. If his stats are anything to go by when these front three are fit Andy Carroll will have a field day attacking his whipped in balls.

And the final piece of the puzzle and arguably the best signing by any club in the summer window Andy Carroll, once valued at 35 million pound by one of the best strikers in history Kenny Dalglish. The former Toon striker joined up with best friend and former manager Sam Allardyce at the Boleyn on a season long loan. He made and instant impact on debut against Fulham in the Hammers home demolition job. He was involved in all 3 goals and showed his worth just 50secs into his debut before limping off with hamstring injury that could keep him out for 6 weeks (typical West Ham).

When these three are put together I think the Hammers will be in a very good position. The skills and imagination of Benayoun twinned with the pace of Jarvis on the left and the power and ferocity of Carroll in the middle this front three will scare defences with its combination. And I for one cannot wait to see it in action.

Come on you Irons!
