Rumour Mill finally got one right!

|

With things going quiet on the Ivan Ramis front, West Ham have today completed the signing of former Hammer James “ginger Pele” Collins.

This comes after reports that West Ham gave the elbow to Ramis, allowing him to complete his move to Wigan as the Hammer secured the signing of their preferred choice in James Collins.

The Welsh defender now 28 years of age, left the Irons in 2009 following a four year spell at the East end club as he moved to Aston Villa.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

On completing his move he told West Ham TV; “I think everyone knew that I didn’t really want to leave when I did [in 2009] because I was enjoying my time here so much. I’ve come back and I’m a much better player this time around so I can’t wait to get cracking and show the fans that I am a better player and can put in the performances on the pitch.”

With the arrival of Ginge, it is a stride in the right direction for West Ham who have now strengthened the back line which was much needed in my opinion. If the Hammers could secure another centre half it would give Big Sam options at the back as well as provide vital competition for places.

I now believe we are only 3 players away from being competitive in the Premier League, a full back another centre half as well as a high class winger. With rumours circulating the David Sullivan is in talks with a quality player from Spain news of an exciting player could be just days away.

So the arrival of Collins is sure to have buoyed the Hammers faithful, as many fans were worried about the lack of competition for place at the back, so if the Hammers continue to press forward with negotiations I’m sure we will be in for an exciting season.

Come on you Irons!

David, think we need another CB, RB and LB. McCartney is too slow and will get skinned and there are still concerns over Demel’s fitness. At least one wide player is required and there will be another forward coming in, so in total I would expect to see 5 more signings to ease the concerns over the smoking season most Hammers fans currently have.

That should say coming season not smoking season!!!

I thought Michael Lamey was on trial for right back slot.
I too believe that we need another Centre Back, Left Back, Right Back, Creative Midfielder, and a Striker.
Perhaps the Carroll episode is a smoke screen whilst other bargain basement names get signed.
it could be a PR exercise to sell tickets, added to a ruse to not let anyone know who is really being lined up.
The rumour mill is just starting and I think we should expect a lot more in the newspapers, even if some of it is bolony. Just look at it from Sam’s point of view as soon as it becomes known that we might be interested someone else will think that’s a good idea too, in addition teams are looking to maximise the sale of their assets e.g. players. Sorry if this sounds too business like, but after all this is the business side and their are a lot of managers who have wheeled and dealed in the past. At least this time around we have a manager that knows what he wants (it may not be everyone’s ideal) and the type of players that can make that happen, and let’s face it we have’nt had that for a while.
So back to the original topic it’s another Centre Back, left back, Right Back, Creative Midfielder and Striker, then we stand a chance of competing to stay out of the relegation zone.
So let’s hope Sam gets want he wants in terms of players.
