Pleased with the business so far?

|

The season is fast approaching, this Saturday will see millions of fans, famished from a severe lack of football, feast on a banquet of delights on the opening weekend!

The anticipation is building rapidly, fans are asking what is in store for my team? Relegation, mid table, a challenge for Europe or a battle for the title?

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

It is an important question but another question rumbles on before the start of the season and follows on till the end of August the question is, has my club done good business in the transfer market?

For me we have! I think Golivan has surpassed our expectations we have done some smart business, Alou Diarra, Mohamed Diame, James Collins and Modibo Maiga most notably were all impressive captures that we needed. They have not been tight with the cheque book by any means but have been smart at the same time which is unusual for West Ham owners!

I think we have wrapped up a fair few deals and we have a strong looking outfit but I believe we could still strengthen two positions left back and right back, we have made George McCartney a permanent signing and I think he’s a good squad player but we need more than that in the Premiership. I would like to see a move for Emiliano Insua from Sporting Lisbon he is only 23 and is a cracking little player. As I mentioned we also need a right back I think a good choice would be Matthieu Chalme from Bordeaux he is 31 but still has pace, experience, has won silverware and wouldn’t cost a bomb he had a solid season and in my opinion wouldn’t reject a chance in the prem.

I think we are still set for an exciting finish to the transfer market and I believe Sam Allardyce has a few deals in the pipe line and who doesn’t love the excitement of deadline day! I would have preferred to have everything sorted and the team bonded and ready for Saturday but that’s a rare thing in football so let’s see what happens between now and August 31st!

I also make you right on the fact that we have done well transfer wise. Just a snapshot of the lack of transfer dealings and satisfaction among many Premiership clubs (including Sunderland & Citeh who have spent….. NOTHING! Mancini is fuming apparently) brings realism to the table and makes you realise we haven’t done badly at all.
I also believe that Big Sam has a few surprises up his sleeve before the end of transfer deadline day!
Every clubs supporters is going to feel they need this player and that player but REALITY is different…. funds permitting. But I trust an experienced manager like Big Sam to get it right by setting up the team NOT to lose, retain our premiership status and move forward year on year. I believe stability is ESSENTIAL to success and I would like to see Big Sam remain in charge for a long time to come. This is why it’s a downward spiral unless clubs have long term stability!

    Oops, sorry Matt 🙂
I know we both want the same and to be honest there’s too much negativity without any foundation amongst supporters at times. It will be hard fought nervous and nail biting, but I really believe we have the right man in charge and we’re moving in the right direction!
