A different approach needed in the market?

|

For many years now West Ham United have been named “The Academy of Football”. We have produced some brilliant players in the past which include; Frank Lampard Junior, Rio Ferdinand and Jermain Defoe. These are all players who owe there successful footballing careers to us, West Ham United.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

In the future I personally would love to see the returns of some of the “Academy’s” greatest graduates. Even though there is little chance of this happening through our chairmen. It would be good to see some old faces around Upton Park. A return I would love to see more than most, would be the one of Yossi Benayoun. He is a master in the middle of the football pitch and someone young players could aspire to play like. West Ham need to influence young players and get quality flowing through the ranks again.

Recently we have had some great players come through the Academy. The likes of James Tomkins and Mark Noble. This is not enough though. Young Ravel Morrison was the most promising and look what he has done. Gone and blown it, as well as blown West Hams £650’000 they spent on the youngster from Manchester United.

West Ham United need to turn around there ways of looking at players. We need to find class players which will do well in the premier league. Not players who are in League One (Moshni). There are so many great football players out there! Cheap ones to.

West Ham need to spend money, and fast. It’s only 3 days till the Premier League kicks off for another season of blood sweat and tears. I hope West Ham can pull out some good signings before then, and not do what they usually do and sign some below average players on deadline day, leaving West Ham fans disappointed. With all the rumors flying all over the place and nothing happening about them, I can see another disappointing summer of transfers. But who knows West Ham have surprised me before, who says they wont again. Remember the last time we came up we finished higher than mid-table and in the FA Cup final.

What you have to take into consideration is, yes we want good players but if we can’t attract them without crippling the club financially (again) we simple can’t sign them. I agree with the fact we shouldn’t be looking at players like moshni but if its true that 95% of deals this summer have failed because we are not a big enough club then we should be positive with the signings that we are making and hope for the best, a bit of luck and build upon that.

“Remember the last time we came up we finished higher than mid-table and in the FA Cup final.”

And when we did finish there how many average players did we have, the squad was built on team spirit and a work ethic.

I honest think we will surprise a number of people this year

Are we just kidding ourselves about the quality of the West Ham academy – the players we are producing now are no better than Championship or lower Premiership quality, Looking at the signings made so far this year and the possible inclusion of Matt J what chances are there for Noble and Collison to hold down a permanent position.

its all just about staying up this season , dont think signings have been to bad , we all know we need to strengthen in all areas , but one we dont have the money and second cant bring in to many players upset the balance of the squad better done gradually .
maybe a quality striker and winger, then wait till january .
i agree about youngsters watched them get hammered by daggers the weekend , should be better against div 2 side, its not losing just the manner they did , far to light weight.
