My Dream Prem XI

|

Hammers fans like myself must be looking at our current squad with worry going into next season. We have taken the step up to the hardest league in the world. The likes of Carlton Cole, Kevin Nolan, Matty Taylor & Jack Collison have done well in the Championship, but I can’t help but feel they may have found there level in the increasingly competitive competition of the lower tier.

So what can be done? Well here is my realistic dream eleven for next season.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

GK Robert Green: Green has proven himself as a top class keeper over and over and will thrive back in the big time (sign up Greeno!).

LB Royston Drenthe: The Real Madrid wing back certainly has something about his game, defensive frailties could be costly but having Ringo as back up will keep us solid in those grinding games.

CB James Tomkins: Hammer of the year runner up, Tonka is a dead cert for the Premier League, his class will surely be felt in the top league next season.

CB James Collins: Rugged ‘backs to the wall’ style defender who has recently fell out with his club Aston Villa. Welcome home Ginge!

RB Danny Simpson: Currently stalling over a new contract at Newcastle perhaps the Hammers can step in with a cheeky bid for this highly rated talent.

ML Thomas Ince: Looks an awesome talent, just hope we didn’t put him off to much with all the unnecessary booing last Saturday.

MC Mark Noble: Hammer of the year Noble has come of age this season and the leap to Premier League football seems a short one for the popular midfielder.

MC Yossi Benayoun: Another ex Hammer with plenty to offer. The Israeli international would give us the creative spark we need to compete against the rest, also available after his loan spell at Arsenal.

MR David Bentley: Back to fitness after his knee injury Bentley was starting to show what made him a multi million pound winger in his loan spell at the Hammers, perhaps his second coming can be at the Boleyn.

FC Ricardo Vaz Te: West Ham’s goal sensation deserves his chance in the Premier league after a sparkling campaign for the Hammers, if he doesn’t perform then goal poacher Nicky Maynard will be waiting in the wings to pounce.

FC Jordan Rhodes: Failed bids in January showed Sam Allardyce’s hand. I believe if Huddersfield don’t get promoted then the prolific Rhodes will be wearing the claret and blue next term.

Im off to buy this lot on Champ manager and see if I win the league perhaps I can still manage West Ham one day!

I like the team you mention for the most part. James Collins and Danny Simpson would be brilliant acquitions. The one that has me most excited is the interest Big Sam has in Bas Dost, who you don’t mention. We are going to need to close up the back with a solid defense and bring in some goal scoring. These three would do the trick nicely.

Lastly, having Yossi back would be fantastic. I hated to see him go years ago. We will need his creative genius wearing claret and blue this season.

  • Amad P says:

Sorry mate but Nolan captained Newcastle & was one of their best players. Cole is a massive player if we give him support. Don’t agree with initial statement.

    • Steve Deare says:

Fair Point Amad, but for me the goals Nolan scores are a bit of a distraction from the fact we have no Creative midfielders. Nolan = 10-12 goals a season, while Yossi will create chances for strikers to score 20 plus.

  • Dan says:

    Erm …. NO

  • Brad Pinard says:

David Bentley? Your Dream XI. More like a nightmare…

    • Steve Deare says:

He is a risk for sure but can you think of another England international right winger that is available for under 5 million? It is a realistic dream Eleven after all.

  • Bobbie from oz says:

nship b4 paying the amount they want. I would rather Dost for the same money. Green – I would let go. I think henderson has a great future & signing another keeper (whether that be Robinson or one of arsenal’s boys) we would save 1000’s. Remember we are still in quiet a bit of debt. Our backline – would love to see those signings, but never going to happen
