Lets get things done early!

With West Ham finally back in the big time, just how important is it to get your deals done early.

With link upon link already since Saturday it is easy to forget that it has been only 5 days since that wonderful Wembley day.

Adzman on twitter recently tweeted that the Hammers are likely to try and get in four permanent signings and 3 loans.

With that in mind, would it be wise to secure these signings early. The Hammers have already tied down Stephen Henderson to a three year deal following a successful loan spell, and have been

linked with moves for Michael Owen, Michael Kightley and Matthew Jarvis as well as a cheeky move for Marouane Chamakh of Arsenal and free agent Junior Hoilett. Meanwhile it is expected that the Hammers will bid for Dani Benitez a Spanish winger who threw a bottle of Powerade at a referee in a match against Real Madrid this season while playing for Granada. The Irons are also targeting a move for Club Brugge striker Joseph Akpala who bagged 19 goals this season.

It is widely thought that the big man with the Big plan Sam Allardyce has a list of 32 players in mind, and I believe it is important that he nails his preferred targets down. Last year he brought his players in as early as possible and got them training in pre-season. The team gelled and eventually it ended in a successful season.

The new skipper Kevin Nolan was signed in early June, whilst the rest of the new recruits joined in mainly July. It is vital that a team if settled and jelled before the season starts and I’m sure Big Sam has this in mind. He acted quickly with his releasing of 6 West Ham players that include the wardrobe Papa Bouba Diop, the beast Abdoulaye Faye as well as the TGV Julien Faubert and John Carew as well as youth products Olly Lee and Frank Nouble.

If he acts with such brutality in his incoming transfers it won’t be long until we will be on the breaking news bar on Sky Sports. And I for one hope he does, new players take time to settle into a

new area and get used to player with their new teammates so surely it makes sense to sign players early so they can during the up and coming pre-season tour in Germany.

Sam Allardyce known for an eye for a talented bargain, will hopefully bring in a Jay Jay Okocha type signing, that will represent great value for money and be a firm fans favourite, if the Hammers can steal a march on these types of players, it will be an exciting season next season indeed.

Come on you Irons!
