West Ham travel to Wembley in fine fettle having won 6 of their last 8 and in my view that is all down to consistency.

Sam Allardyce as finally found a settled team and the result on the pitch are superb, winning games and in style. Ricardo Vaz Te and Carlton Cole have combined up front well and a settled consistent midfield leaves every player knowing their role.

The hard working Gary O’Neil works superbly with the battling centre midfield pairing of Mark Noble and Kevin Nolan and adds vital width to the side. Add to that Jack Collison who is expected to be fit for the final and the midfield four is starting to look a match for some Premier league sides. Collison works well down the left with the bombing Matty Taylor and the message is simple consistency is key.

Early season it would be a surprise to see the same team every week, and that meant that players were constantly wondering what their roles were. But with 8 games to go, Big Sam found the trick,

and with little or no injury’s he picked his best team and the team’s form picked up no end.

The team looks assured and calmed on the ball and the confidence is flowing and the goals are coming. Providing Jack is fit the team would pick itself for Saturday’s huge clash, and with the Hammers flying surely confidence in the camp would be sky high- like our blowing bubbles. The fans are confident let’s hope the players go in and prove our confidence to be correct.

Although in the pub today whilst watching the united game, I did hear a worrying fact. The last time Manchester United came 2nd, Blackpool won promotion via the play offs and Bayern Munich lost in the Champions league final. Surely a freakish one off, and a coincidence but it wiped my smug grin off my face.

Still my view, keep the same team as recent weeks, let Sam give the easiest team talk in the world, “look out there, there are 41 thousand West Ham fans out there who have spent their hard

earned cash following you home and away. Just give them one last performance they deserve and create a dream”. Blackpool is a team with immense pace, and a striker who knows where the net is

with alarming regularity in Kevin Phillips. But if the Hammers play like they have recently, I am going to Wembley with confidence let’s just hope such confidence doesn’t come back to bit me in butt.

Come on you Irons!
