Loan to Perm?

|

As we bid to make a glorious return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, we have undertaken a couple of loan signings to help us achieve this goal…provided we make it back to the Promised Land are either of them worth keeping?

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

Firstly after last night’s heroics by the seaside the first mention has to go to Henri Lansbury on loan from Arsenal. Now unfortunately for this immensely talented midfielder who played a vital part of Norwich’s successful promotion campaign, his season with us has been blighted by injury; after such a promising start which saw him score a debut goal against Portsmouth. Lansbury however will go down in West Ham folklore with that remarkable goal-keeping cameo at Bloomfield Road and with so many fixtures in the months of March (8) and April (6) I am certain his chance will come in his preferred midfield role. However with Henri signing a new deal with Arsenal at the start of the season I don’t believe a permanent transfer is in the offing.

George McCartney now takes centre stage; he’s settled back into the West Ham side so seamlessly it’s like he never left for the Mackems. A real ‘Steady Eddy’ in that whilst he’s solid defensively he lacks the pace and dynamism to go marauding forward and provide an extra attacking dimension. Would we want to make his loan permanent upon promotion? I’m not so sure, I think he’s been solid and steady for us this season but I do believe with Premier League football once again at the Boleyn we could do better than a ‘Steady Eddy’ at left back. ]

Looking for experience? Just want to be heard outside of the Boleyn? We are currently looking for writers, drop us an email at foreverwestham@snack-media.com for more details

With 15 games to go, we’re top of the pile. The home straight is on the horizon and with a return to the big time; the big names will come rolling into East London.

Lansbury I don’t think we will get on loan, one reason being he signed a new contract with Arsenal at the beginning of the season.

So I think we’d see us maybe go for another one, or hope Morrison can make a mark.

McCartney is a high possibility though. He’s been pretty consistent with us so I won’t complain if we did get him permanently!

  • HMM says:

The new deal with Arsenal for Lansbury was just Arsenal saying you will have to pay if you want him… so its NOT off the cards.

AND McCarthy gets a 2 year deal should we get promoted!

Sorry to burst your bubble but i know my stuff!

  • Sactownhammer says:

McCarthy is not good enough for prem. gets beat way too easy. We will see about Lansbury, might depend if Wenger is still around

  • westhamwag says:

Makes me laugh when fans on websites say that a particular player is not good enough when they cant be bothered to spell their name right – it is McCartney – Benni McCarthy left last year!!!

  • linda hales says:

    Let’s just get there first!!

  • James says:

Haha!! McCarthy better not get a 2 year deal if we go up!! Only if we pay him in pies.

When fans boo their team who are top of the table
you dont need a “LOAN PERM”- you need your heads examined!!!

  • Sactownhammer says:

Blame auto spell for the error. Still does not take away that Linda, is not good enough for PL. don’t see Sunderland wanting him back.

  • Tony P says:

sactownhammer knows his/her stuff so well that they call McCartney “McCarthy”. What a ****

McCartney would be a free transfer, and we’ll need potions, so I see it as a no brainer that we should sign him. I would also like to see us bring in a better option to play as first choice however.
As HMM said, a permanent contract for Lansbury is not out of the question, and I would say it’s more a case of if we want him’ rather than ‘would Arsenal sell him’. He’s not good enough for a regular place in our first 16, so I can’t see Arsenal wanting to keep him. He’s nowhere near good enough for them. I’d take him as a squad player, but for no more than £2m of our summer budget (add in a sell on clause of 5% of the profit if eed be).

we will need both if we get up. and LB, RB, & CH.This squad is going to come up sort in the prem.both the new signings looked good, had time on the ball & used it well. but why play 1 up front at home, it works away – at home it puts us on the back foot.

  • John says:

We need to keep both players on permanent basis when u build a team from championship then we keep the players that took us back to the premier league I have faith in the players we have Forever a Hammer

  • John says:
