Gold and Sullivan…take a bow

|

So as I write this its dead-line day. And West Ham are committing to it in a commendable fashion. With all the current issues/problems we’re experiencing putting the ball in the back of the net; a glut of attacking talent is seemingly on its way to Upton Park, with the likes of Ravel Morrison, Nicky Maynard, Ricardo Vaz Te and Ze Eduardo all on the verge of signing…Relying on Mark Noble penalties and clinging on to one goal leads could soon be a thing of the past.

At a time when many Hammers fans were beginning to doubt Gold and Sullivan and the sincerity of their attempted transfers; after missing out on Jelavic, Sordell and Rhodes…the amazing and exciting news which greets us this dead-line day has proved their doubters wrong. I must say I was amazed at how limited the vision of some Hammers fans were; 8 million for Rhodes was ridiculous, 8 million for Jelavic was excessive, promotion back to the promised land didn’t rest solely with these players. The market has been scoured and it looks like we’re definitely going to get more bang for our buck.

It’s always better to strengthen from a position of strength and it doesn’t get much stronger than being top of the league, we’re sending a chilling message out to the rest of the Championship that we do not intend toil at this level like Portsmouth and Leeds have. Instead we intend to head straight back to Premier League and take the title with us. I can only imagine what Southampton, Cardiff and the rest of the chasing pack are thinking/pondering as we look to seal off one of the automatic promotion spots and leave them all scrapping over the other one.

Nothing is a certainty in football. But with 19 games to go, we already were in the possession of the best squad in the league, we were already top and clear by three points and now we’re significantly strengthening the squad as well as keeping hold of all our key players…anyone else feeling a looming sense of inevitability?

Gold and Sullivan…take a bow.

So long as you haven’t seen West Ham play in the past month or so, Promotion looks assured……

I agree, so hopefully these signings will make a difference. I still have my concerns when we get back to the Premiership though, I just dont think we have the players capable of staying there.

Couldn’t agree more, Gold & Sullivan have done a great job. Last night must have made them (and the new signings) wonder why they’d bothered though. Now all they have to do is find a manager who knows how to use more than one forward at a time and we’ll be in with a chance!

yes well done, that is putting up. but what the ruck was that last nite. top of the pack and you put that in,were is your pride as players. pity the window closed last nite-we could of got rid of a few more waste of space. and 2000 turned out for you. The least the so called players should do is pay the cost of those fans.
