Transfer Trauma? Bring on the FA Cup!

|

These days, the January transfer window has become a bit like a circus… a terrible, drawn out, overblown, deceitful, acid trip of a circus.  I must admit, I do enjoy it in very short bursts.  Still, it’s utterly preposterous. The whole thing is a series of rumors, passed on, miss heard, and passed on again.  By the time the story comes to the forefront, it still has no cited sources, is three days old, and has been disproved by the fact that the player written about has joined a club that wasn’t even mentioned.  Aside from all that, you get the stupid manager posturing and the overpaid babies whinging and moaning.  So to cure the terrible feeling that all the excess of the modern transfer window, I urge you all to turn your attention to one of the last true vestiges of English football:  The FA Cup.

West Ham plays Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, and it should be a great break for everyone to get a glimpse of the greatest cup competition and forget the mess of the transfer window.  Depending on how much the manager and board want to stress the competition while vying for automatic promotion, it could be a really intensely fought match. Even if Big Sam decides to throw more youth in the mix, it should still be a great match of good old football.  One way or another it should be interesting, as I am hoping we both progress and get a glimpse of some of the youngsters. I can’t see Big Sam being willing to throw the match and shrug his shoulders like that red nosed Manchester United manager.  Either way, I hope you all tune in to catch a potentially great match of football.
