|

West Ham Ladies progressed into the third round of the FA Women’s Cup with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Chichester City Ladies on Sunday.

The Hammers went in as favourites for the game against the London & South East Regional League team. Goals from forward Kelley Blanchflower in either half and a second half strike from Becky Merritt secured the win for West Ham.

They now face a tricky away trip to FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division side Derby County Ladies in the third round, with the game scheduled for early February.

West Ham’s next game is another away cup tie, this time against Billericay Town Ladies in the County Cup quarter-final next weekend. The Ladies will be looking to take another step towards retaining this trophy after winning the Essex FA Women’s County Cup last season.
