We are West Ham United

|

West Ham United are sitting second in the league, winning four and drawing one out of their last five games.  There are numerous players coming back from injuries and knocks, and there are several rumours floating about that there will be moves made in January to bring further players in to increase the ranks and add much needed depth to the squad.

Sam Baldock and Carlton Cole are playing very well up front, the midfield is becoming more adept at going forward while not abandoning the back four, and the fullbacks continue to cause havoc for opposing midfielders.  If we can add some depth at centre back and get Winston Reid back then things look to be in good shape. So why all the negativity?

There are certain Hammers fans who continually rag on Big Sam, on Carlton Cole, or any other random player, and they do this constantly.  What more does West Ham need to be doing? For being relegated just last year, we seem to be doing very well at solidifying our position in the top two and stopping the financial bleeding.

West Ham is renowned for having incredible support, both home and away.  Last game, away at Coventry, West Ham had over 6,000 supporters to cheer on the mighty Hammers.  Our beloved song itself has a tangible note of optimism, despite the trials and tribulations.

We are West Ham United, we are the Academy of Football and we will remain a staple of all that is good in English Football.  So chin up, my fellow Hammers. After all, what are we? Spurs fans?
