This talented forward could be the answer to West Ham’s striker search

|

Background

Jimenez started his career in his homeland and came through the ranks at Club America where he would spend three years at the Mexican club.

A solid record of 36 goals in 96 appearances rounded off an encouraging start to the forward’s career and he moved to Atletico Madrid for around £8 million last year.

He has struggled for game time since moving to La Liga due to the fact that top players such as Mario Mandzukic and Antoine Griezmann have prevented him from featuring regularly for Diego Simeone’s side. The return of club hero Fernando Torres in January also pushed Jimenez further down the pecking order so regular Premier League football may be something that really appeals to the Mexico forward.
