A proven performer at Premier League level, Sigurdsson found himself surplus to requirements at Tottenham but instead of signing for Liverpool he decided to go back to former club Swansea City, where he was guaranteed first team football.
It proved to be a wise decision as he had a magnificent season, creating and scoring no less than 17 goals for his club, as they finished in an all-time high 8th position.
Although the Icelandic international seems very happy at The Liberty stadium, a bid of around £15m from a now very ambitious West Ham might be too much to turn down.
