Graham Potter has already made two major signings this window in El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters, but it feels as though business is far from over for the West Ham boss.

The Hammers released Lukasz Fabianski last month following a very successful seven-year spell at the club.

With just Alphonse Areola left as the only recognised first-team goalkeeper in the squad, it’s almost inevitable that Potter will be looking to sign a new number one.

The Hammers conceded 62 goals last season in the Premier League, so the importance of signing a quality goalkeeper speaks for itself.

West Ham weigh up two Goalkeeper options

According to Sky Sports, West Ham are still very much interested in signing Japan international and Parma goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki.

The 22-year-old kept eight clean sheets last season, while he also made the fifth most saves in the league with 100 and won Serie A save of the season.

Suzuki is also strong at collecting crosses, catching 55 in the 2024/25 season, making it the second highest in Europe’s top five leagues.

The Hammers aren’t the only Premier League club after the keeper, however, with Manchester United also keen on bringing the young talent in, and Sky Sports have described a Premier League move for the player as ‘inevitable’.

West Ham are also exploring the option to sign Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

The 25-year-old has worked with West Ham’s new goalkeeping coach Casper Ankergren in the past at Brondby, perhaps putting the Hammers in a good position to sign the Danish goalie.

Hermansen made 103 saves last season, a particularly impressive statistic considering he only played 27 games.

While the Foxes were relegated last season, Hermansen was one of the few consistent performers in the side, with SofaScore rating him as Leicester’s second-best player across the campaign.
