West Ham currently have 15 players out on loan from both the first team and U21s, and some are making serious waves away from East London.

We’ve seen the likes of Nayef Aguerd, George Earthy and Freddie Potts enjoying successful spells at their loan clubs this season, and this might make them potential options for Graham Potter next season.

The Hammers have struggled in the centre forward department, with long-term injuries to Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio making their attack feel a bit toothless at times.

Potter might have a serious option up front next season, however, with loanee Callum Marshall enjoying potentially the best season of any of the West Ham loanees at Huddersfield Town.

Marshall wins POTY

Marshall has been a key figure for the Terriers this season who sit in 10th place in League One with a game to play, with the striker playing 46 games in all competitions.

The 20-year-old is Huddersfield’s second top scorer with 10 goals and is also joint second for goals and assists with 14 goal contributions.

His impressive season has ultimately earned him Player of the Season for the Terriers in his second loan spell away from West Ham.

The Huddersfield club website has described the Northern Ireland international as a ‘workhorse’ who makes interventions ‘all over the pitch’.

Marshall joined the Hammers in January 2022 from Linfield as a 17-year-old and has since scored 51 goals in 69 games for the U18s and U21s combined.

The striker had a six-month loan spell at West Brom last season after struggling to break into the Hammers’ first team, but struggled for game time at The Hawthorns.

His current loan spell at Huddersfield will undoubtedly be his career best season to date, and he will be hoping this will put him at the forefront of Potter’s mind when assembling a squad for next season, particularly with the striker injury woes the Hammers have suffered.
