It’s expected to be a summer of heavy transfer activity at West Ham, and it looks as though West Ham could be letting go of two players who cost the club over £60million in total.

It is understood that Edson Alvarez could be leaving at the end of the season, with Claret and Hugh reporting the Mexican has been informed he is free to find a new club in the summer.

The 27-year-old signed for the club in 2023 for a fee worth over £35 million, but it is expected West Ham will have to sell the player for significantly less than what they paid if they’re looking to offload him.

Former West Ham midfielder Martin Allen believes the club would do well to receive as much as £10 million for Alvarez, telling West Ham Zone that a significant loss now looks inevitable after what’s been a disappointing season for the player.

Guilherme to gain experience on loan

Luis Guilherme could make a loan move to newly relegated Southampton this summer, The Sun reports.

The Brazilian signed for the Hammers last year for over £25 million but has struggled to hit the ground running in East London since leaving Palmeiras.

The 19-year-old has played just 128 minutes of Premier League football this season, starting just once, so a loan deal to play more regular football could be a good move for both the player and West Ham.

The Sun is reporting there is a possibility a swap deal could also be on the cards, which would see the teenager make the move to the Saints permanently, and West Ham would get Aaron Ramsdale in return, a player the Hammers have been heavily linked with in recent weeks.

It’s difficult to know whether Guilherme could end up being a hit at West Ham due to his lack of game time, but he has certainly seen more minutes since Graham Potter’s arrival, so perhaps a loan move is part of the manager’s plans to get the Brazilian more used to English football before coming back a much improved player.
